About this product

The estate

Owner by former president of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux Olivier Bernard since 1983.
One of the rare "Cru Classé" in the Grave area.
Located on a 60m high plateau and surrounded by forest, Domaine de Chevalier benefits from colder temperature than the neighboring estates.
Planted as follows: 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc.

The Vintage

A warm and even summer following good weather during flowering with lots of sunshine. One of the greats of the 2010's along with 2005.

What they say:

Decanter 09/2023

Not so expressive on the nose right now; dark chocolate, cedar, tobacco nuances, some savoury edges with a touch of iodine. Balanced, calm, gentle, quiet, powerful no doubt but not shouting like the 2005 is right now. Smooth, supple, excellent tannins really integrated and supportive giving a wide but soft feel. So delicious, crunchy, ripe, chalky, salty, so much beautiful power and perseverance here. I love this, not trying too hard, effortless almost. Really incredible wine and stands out for it's balance and harmony and just giving so much togetherness. Everything works and this remains calm despite the richness.
