From 55 year old vines matured for 17 months in a combination of old and new French oak. Impenetrable inky black colour with a very deep black dark red hue.
Hedonistic ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark plum aromas waft from the glass followed by spicy vanillin cedar, hints of scorched earth and blackpepper.
Rich and plush yet simultaneously refined and well structured, the palate is awash with blackberry, dark plum and liquorice fruits which meld into a back drop of vanillin cedar, light scorched earth and spicy pepper elements. Polished mouth feel with velvet like yet sturdily built tannins.
Long sophisticated finish. Trophy winner at the 2021 McLaren Vale Wine Show.
